From the Executive Director's Desk: A New Face at ACM

We are pleased to welcome Sheila Spalding to the staff at the museum! Sheila started at ACM in March as our new Museum Education Coordinator, and she brings with her a solid background in both museum and educational settings.

Sheila’s experience in archives, schools, school committees, and libraries, as well as her warmth and professionalism make her a welcome addition to ACM staff. Prior to joining our staff, Sheila worked as Archivist at Boston Children’s Hospital and The Mary Baker Eddy Library, and taught at the elementary and preschool level. Her experience working with both neurodivergent and disabled students brings a new perspective to ACM, and will broaden the impact of our educational programming.

As Museum Education Coordinator, Sheila will work to plan and facilitate the educational programs held at the Industrial History Center, as well as working with Amesbury schools to continue the development of our field trip program and school partnerships.

The Industrial History Center opens for the season at 3 PM on April 15th, with the reception for Memories in Metal: The Machined Art of Abraham Megerdichian, followed by our family-focused Spring Opening Week (Thursday, April 20 to Saturday, April 22). Stop by to say hello and help welcome Sheila to the Amesbury community!
