Conducted in partnership with the Southern New England Chapter of the Society for Industrial Archeology, the day-long program will encourage participants to look closely and learn from the industrial landscape, both in Amesbury and other communities. See how the history of a community can be better understood by viewing its buildings and other features and artifacts, which are often in plain sight.
The program includes a presentation about the construction of 19th century mill buildings, a tour of an early textile mill building and a second tour to view the features of industrial power systems in Amesbury’s millyard.
