Community of Makers: Calligraphy
from $20.00

Relax & unwind: it’s YOUR time to get creative. Reserve your seat(s) to learn the meditative art of pointed pen calligraphy with New England pro calligrapher Liz Roessler.

No previous experience is required, all class materials & complete take-home kit provided.

You will be expertly and patiently guided through all of the basics: how to hold your pen, set up your workspace, proper ergonomics, the ritual of dipping into pots of acrylic ink, fun warm-up drills, easy-to-follow alphabet practice (6 unique styles to explore!), connecting letters to form words, flourishing techniques, and all the best pro tips & tools to embark on your calligraphy journey.

Thanks to the following funding, we are able to offer accessible registration fees for all workshops in the Community of Makers series.

The 2026 series is generously sponsored by Greg Jardis, Amesbury Industrial Supply Co., Inc.

This program is also supported in part by a grant from the Amesbury Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state.
