Development and Communications Coordinator - August 2024
ACM is pleased to welcome Melissa Kaiser to our staff as Development and Communications Coordinator. Melissa comes to us from The Museum of Science. She brings her experience as a non-profit professional and a demonstrated history of working in museums and libraries.
"We are so excited to have Melissa join our hard-working team of professionals, and we can't wait to see how she helps ACM grow," said Kelly Daniell, Executive Director.
Melissa is skilled at fundraising, archival research, cataloging, and developing outreach programs. Her passion for public history, preserving cultural heritage, and building community connections make her an excellent addition to our organization.
Please stop by the Industrial History Center or one of our upcoming events to welcome Melissa to ACM!
education coordinator - march 2023
We are pleased to welcome Sheila Spalding to the staff at the museum! Sheila started at ACM in March as our new Museum Education Coordinator, and she brings with her a solid background in both museum and educational settings. Sheila’s experience in archives, schools, school committees, and libraries, as well as her warmth and professionalism make her a welcome addition to ACM staff. Prior to joining our staff, Sheila worked as Archivist at Boston Children’s Hospital and The Mary Baker Eddy Library, and taught at the elementary and preschool level. Her experience working with both neurodivergent and disabled students brings a new perspective to ACM, and will broaden the impact of our educational programming.
As Museum Education Coordinator, Sheila will work to plan and facilitate the educational programs held at the Industrial History Center, as well as working with Amesbury schools to continue the development of our field trip program and school partnerships.
Executive director - april 2022
Welcome to Kelly Daniell, the Amesbury Carriage Museum’s new Executive Director replacing John Mayer, who has retired. Kelly began her role on Monday, March 28th.
Kelly comes to Amesbury from The Peabody Historical Society & Museum, where she served six years as Curator, maintaining the extensive decorative arts and research collections, as well as eight historic buildings in the City of Peabody.
Her recent exhibition subjects included examining stories of immigration, profiling veterans, and charting the lives of four notable women in Peabody’s long history.
Kelly earned a Bachelor’s degree in Cultural and Historic Preservation from Salve Regina University in 2010, and a Master’s degree in History Museum Studies from the Cooperstown Graduate Program in 2012.
