History, Colonial Legacies, and Survival
This talk and discussion will explore the history of Native Americans in New England — resistance, adaptation, and survival under often harsh and unfavorable circumstances. We will also examine some of the colonial legacies that still shape the views and (mis-)perceptions about indigenous peoples to this day.
Speaker Christoph Strobel is Professor of History at University of Massachusetts Lowell and is the author of Native Americans of New England (A 2021 Choice Outstanding Academic Title). He has also published other books and essays.
